Enhancing quality of life for all in Sutton Coldfield

Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust (SCCT) is an independent charity which aims to alleviate hardship and improve the quality of life for residents in Sutton Coldfield.

One way it does this is by awarding grants to meet the needs of community organisations.

Birmingham Community Matters (BCM) is delighted to be working with SCCT to boost the confidence, networks and success of the small community groups in Sutton Coldfield who are beneficiaries – or may be future beneficiaries – of these grants.

What do we do?

BCM is a charity which helps people to start, run and grow small community and voluntary groups in Birmingham. We bring you together with people who have lots of experience, so you can overcome challenges and share ideas – to make your group even more successful.

We’re working with SCCT to boost small community groups in Sutton Coldfield.

We’re doing this through face-to-face events that will include:

  • Themed workshops on topics that are relevant to either emerging, developing or established groups (for example: structures, governance, safeguarding, accessing funding, marketing and promotion, managing community buildings, monitoring and measuring impact, or looking after volunteers)
  • Meet the funder‘ sessions, where you can hear directly from the funding officers of various grant programmes about eligibility, the application process, reporting and so on
  • A cuppa and a chat‘ sessions, where you can chat one-to-one with an experienced BCM helper about ideas and challenges relating to your group, and figure out some simple next steps together.
