Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, Birmingham Community Matters (BCM) is recruiting. We are looking for a Project Officer to join our team in September 2024.

In this role, you will help us to boost the impact of small voluntary groups across Birmingham.

About the Project Officer role

The Project Officer job is home based, but with a requirement to travel to and work from community venues around Birmingham. BCM will provide the equipment you need for you to do your work. It is 0.6 FTE (full time equivalent), which equates to 22.2 hours per week. We will be seeking additional funding to increase this role to 29.6 hours per week (0.8 FTE), by negotiation with the successful candidate.

The Project Officer will build on our work with small community organisations, within a defined geographical area in Birmingham. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of activities that support small and micro voluntary groups in the city.

Briefly, the role will involve:

  • Organising, hosting and facilitating (online and in-person) meetings, events and workshops
  • Developing networks and contacts and working with host organisations and wider stakeholders for the benefit of the groups we support
  • Speaking to volunteers and group members (in person and online) to understand their queries about setting up or developing their micro community group or small charity.

Go to our  ‘Work with our team’ page for all the information you need to apply – and please do share this opportunity with people who may be interested!

The closing date is 11pm on Sunday 30 June 2024.
