Guidance: charitable purposes

From: UK government

To register as a charity, your group or organisation needs to decide on the purpose of the charity.

Charity law gives thirteen possible ways that the work of your organisation can be considered ‘charitable’

This resource from the UK Government outlines all thirteen.

When you are choosing your charitable purposes, you can choose a small number of these which apply best to the change you wish to make. You don’t need to choose all thirteen!

There is also an audio version of the resource: Charitable purposes audio resource
